Minutes of the AGM held at Wotton Hall Club Friday 19thJuly 2024

Chairman’s Welcome 

The Chairman GT welcomed everyone to the meeting and congratulated all winning teams for league and cup competitions.  

Divisional Secretary Report 

DC talked about late results and when the last cut off point in the following week is before teams will be fined.  DC also mentioned to teams to take a photo of then 

Treasurers Report 

WC gave out account expenditure sheets for everybody to view.

Competitions Secretary Report 

AH talked about the winners and runners up from the cup competitions and congratulated the winners. He also praised some particularly good individual scores. 

General Secretary Report

MC firstly congratulated all season winners and runners up. 

MC also mentioned the fact we have 110 teams for next season and said how he thought the new league structure was working well from last season, this was met with no objections. 

He stated the fact that £590 in fine money collected throughout the season was far too high and that teams needed to keep on top of late results and cancelled games so we can bring this figure down. 

MC had a slight moan about late registration for teams and the cut off point being April 30th and the date for trophy returns being April 1st. 

He thanked the committee for their help and commitment to running the league.

Issues raised for discussion

Accounts 

MC explained that the previous issue with the accounts still has not been concluded, and we are still waiting for answers after 2 years. 

Trophies

MC stated that the current state of the trophies is not great and that there were 3 options to sort things out moving forward. 

Option 1 – Scrap current trophies and move to cheaper trophies that teams can keep.

Option 2 – New Bakelite bases and new nickel bands.

Option 3 – New Bakelite bases and new silver bands. 

The members voted that the league would freshen up the current trophies with silver bands. MC to get various quotes. 

Fixtures

The members voted unanimously that fixtures should go on the website for reference. DC to sort. 

Finishing and Start times

Teams were offered the flexibility to start and finish games earlier because of late finishes, but this was unanimously voted against.

This was voted to remain under the same rules as the previous season. 

Election of Officers 

All the current committee members were elected on block for the forthcoming season in their current roles. 

AOB

Wet clothes

MC asked the members that if they are using a wet cloths to please not put it in the chute, so it effects other players.

Balls

MC asked members if they have old or odd sets of balls that are not needed anymore to please get in contact with him as teams are desperate for balls with the shortage of wood.
